Jaye has been involved within the field of teaching for over 18 years. She is a certified yoga teacher and is registered with Yoga Alliance. Her love affair with yoga began after taking her very first class. “I felt this overwhelming sense of coming home; a discovery of the treasures behind a full breath.” She has since been inspired to study with many famous teachers reflecting the principles and alignment behind the teaching styles of Iyengar yoga, Anusara yoga, Viniyoga, Forrest yoga, ISHTA and Yin yoga. She draws from this diversity when creating her class themes, and is committed to providing her students with a safe, non-competitive environment. Her VInyasa classes lead each student on an individual journey, using the yoga mat as a refuge for self awareness—mentally, physically, emotionally, energetically and spiritually.
Jaye also uses her former experience as a Montessori educator as a blueprint for designing Kids’ Yoga program at geoYoga. She believes that yoga is a great forum to provide children with a “life raft” for learning how to ride the waves of trials and tribulations as the game of life is played out. Her Kids’ Yoga classes inspire children with fun, imaginative yoga poses, games, story-telling, music, breath awareness and relaxation techniques building inner confidence, focus, character, and a sense of community.
George is a certified yoga teacher and is registered with Yoga Alliance. He earned his certification in prenatal yoga through Discovery Yoga in St. Augustine, where he completed his teacher training at the 500 hour level.
George has been exploring meditation, eastern traditions and mysticism for many years. His yoga journey has included Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Kripalu, and Bikram, among others. He is also a Reiki Master and a licensed massage therapist (MA61756).
George has attended workshops by, or studied with, teachers such as Manju Jois, Tim Miller, Christopher Baxter, Lakshmi Voelker, and Govinda Kai. He utilizes these experiences, as well as his personal studies, to blend aspects of various asana (posture) traditions and pranayama (breath/life force–control/expansion) in many of his classes to help facilitate a moving meditative experience.
Scott is a nationally certified teacher of both Yin and Vinyasa based Yogic systems as well as co-founder of the Karma Yoga inspired non-profit Karma Krew, Inc. Scott’s teachings are deeply rooted in the intention to create transformation through the cultivation of a well balanced spiritual practice that integrates various forms of asana, pranayama, and meditation along with the heart opening practice of seva (selfless service). His practice reflects an integration of Taoist, Buddhist, and Yogic philosophies.
Scott’s primary emphasis is centered on effectively applying the many gifts and lessons of Yoga practice to the adventures of daily living. His teachings emphasize turning inward and aligning with our essential nature so that we can then connect to the world around us with a wider and deeper embrace.
Several years ago, Tara stepped onto the mat for the first time with a "Type A" personality, looking for a new workout. She could not have predicted the journey that the yogic path would take her on.
Yoga has brought joy, peace, and balance into her life. She has learned that how we treat ourselves on the mat is direct related to how we treat ourselves in life, and she is learning to lighten up in both areas.
Inspired to share her love of the practice and its life changing benefits, she completed her teacher training with Margarida Tree at One Yoga Planet.
Anusara-inspired Yoga Teacher Cathy started her yoga practice in 1996 after suffering a stroke. She was looking for a way to bring balance into her life. As her practice deepened, she wanted to share the joys of the practice with others who wanted to try yoga, but felt that the strains of their mental and physical barriers might hold them back.
Her mission is to guide people to use the practice of yoga to break through these barriers and be open to all the good that life has to offer.
Kyle received his 200-hour CYT certification through One Yoga Planet with Margarida Tree. Kyle’s respect and passion for the practice has presented him with a whole new appreciation for life which he is eager to share with his students. His vinyasa classes are styled around the Ashtanga Primary Series with a unique and entertaining platform for sharing his personal stories and endeavors as they relate to daily life both on and off the mat.
Kyle sees yoga as a discipline that arises from clarity of intention and commitment, and is available to all who are willing and ready to explore its many benefits.
Laura is a graduate of geoYoga's inaugural teacher training class, where she established a firm foundation in the classical eight limbs of yoga. Even more personally, through her commitment to her own practice, she knows first-hand how yoga can facilitate personal transformation.
Led by a sense of compassion and empathy, Laura believes that her dharma is to assist others as they guide themselves to their own true and bright nature through the path of yoga.
Beginning with the asana practice, through creative sequencing and thoughtfully chosen themes drawn from a variety of traditions, Laura helps her students to discover new tools for interacting with the world. In this way, "moving a muscle to change a thought," we can reprogram ourselves for greater happiness, balance, and peace.
